PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT
Infusion of herb St. John's wort has an astringent, anti-inflammatory effect.
INDICATIONS
Inflammatory diseases of the oral mucosa (including gingivitis, stomatitis); chronic colitis (as part of complex therapy).
DOSING MODE
2 filter packs (3 g) are placed in a glass or enamelware pour 100 ml (1/2 cup) of boiling water, cover with a lid and insist 15 minutes, periodically pressing on the bags with a spoon, then squeeze them. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 100 ml with boiled water.
Adults and children over 12 years of age are taken orally in a warm form 1/2 cup 2 times a day for 30 minutes before meals. The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks.
For rinses, apply 1/2 cup of warm infusion 3-4 times a day. The course of treatment is 5-10 days. Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.
SIDE EFFECT
Allergic reactions are possible. When ingestion - photosensitizing effect (increased sensitivity of the skin to the action of sunlight). With prolonged use, it can cause unpleasant sensations in the region of the liver (in the right hypochondrium) and a feeling of bitterness in the mouth.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to the drug, children under 12 years. When ingestion - pregnancy, lactation.
PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Infusion of herb St. John's wort can not be taken orally during pregnancy and lactation.
APPLICATION FOR CHILDREN
Contraindicated in children under 12 years.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
During treatment should refrain from prolonged exposure to the sun, from visiting the solarium.
DRUG INTERACTION
With the combined use of St. John's wort with cyclosporine, warfarin, digoxin, steroid preparations, antiviral agents - HIV protease inhibitors (amprenavir, indinavir, nelfinavir, ritonavir, saquinavir), their activity may decrease. The drug is able to enhance the photosensitizing effect of other drugs, including. tetracyclines, sulfonamides, thiazide diuretics, quinolones, piroxicam.
