PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT
Non-hormonal anabolic agent. Has a general stimulating effect on metabolic processes. It stimulates the synthesis of nucleic acids involved in protein synthesis, enhances reparative and regenerative processes in tissues. Orotic acid enhances the formation of albumin in the liver, especially in conditions of prolonged hypoxia, which occurs in certain diseases, for example, in heart failure. It improves the tolerability of cardiac glycosides, promotes an increase in diuresis.
PHARMACOKINETICS
When ingestion in the digestive tract absorbs 10% of the dose. It is converted in the liver into orotidin-5-phosphate. It is excreted by the kidneys (30% - in the form of various metabolites).
INDICATIONS
In the combination therapy of liver and biliary tract diseases caused by intoxication (except cirrhosis with ascites); myocardial infarction and chronic heart failure of stage II and III; disorders of the heart rhythm (especially with extrasystole and atrial fibrillation); dermatoses; alimentary and alimentary-infectious hypotrophy in children, progressive muscular dystrophy.
Period of convalescence, increased physical activity.
DOSING MODE
Take inside 250-500 mg 2-3 times / day for 1 hour before meals or 4 hours after eating. The course of treatment is 20-40 days, if necessary, repeat the course in a month. Children - 10-20 mg / kg / day, in 2-3 hours. The course of treatment is 3-5 weeks.

Allergic reactions: allergic dermatosis.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Cirrhosis of the liver with ascites, nephrourolythiasis, chronic renal failure, hypersensitivity to orotic acid.
APPLICATION FOR FUNCTIONS OF THE LIVER
Contraindicated in chronic renal failure.
APPLICATION FOR VIOLATIONS OF THE FUNCTION OF KIDNEYS
Contraindicated in cirrhosis of the liver with ascites.
APPLICATION FOR CHILDREN
The application is possible according to the dosage regimen.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
At present, a combination of orotic acid and magnesium is very promising for use in cardiological practice.
DRUG INTERACTION
When used simultaneously with diuretics, GCS, insulin, muscle relaxants, oral contraceptives, the effectiveness of orotic acid decreases.
Disrupts the absorption of iron, tetracycline, sodium fluoride.
