PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT
Taufon (taurine) is a sulfur-containing amino acid that forms in the body during the conversion of cysteine. The drug contributes to the improvement of energy processes, stimulates reparative processes in diseases of a dystrophic nature and processes accompanied by a significant disruption of the metabolism of the eye tissues. As a sulfur-containing amino acid, the drug helps to normalize the function of cell membranes, improve energy and metabolic processes.
INDICATIONS
The drug is administered to adults with:
- corneal dystrophy;
- senile, traumatic, radiation and other types of cataract;
- traumas of the cornea (as a stimulant of reparative processes).
DOSING MODE
In cataracts, eye drops are prescribed in the form of instillations 1-2 drops 2-4 times / day for 3 months. The course is repeated at a monthly interval.
In injuries and dystrophic diseases, corneas are used in the same doses for one month.
SIDE EFFECT
Allergic reactions.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
- hypersensitivity to taurine.
