PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT
Antibiotic polypeptide isolated from Streptomyces capreolus.
It has a bacteriostatic effect on various strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. There is cross-resistance between capreomycin and viomycin, kanamycin, neomycin.
INDICATIONS
Treatment of pulmonary forms of tuberculosis caused by sensitive to capreomycin mycobacteria in case of ineffectiveness or intolerance of anti-tuberculosis drugs of the 1st series.

DOSING MODE
Enter in / m 1 g / day in accordance with the scheme.

SIDE EFFECT
Possible: nephrotoxic and ototoxic effect, leukocytosis, leukopenia, eosinophilia.

Rarely: thrombocytopenia;
with combined therapy, there may be changes in functional liver samples, urticaria, maculopapular rash, fever; pain at the injection site, compaction, excessive bleeding and "cold" abscesses.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to capreomycin.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Safety of use during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding) is not established.

APPLICATION FOR FUNCTIONS OF THE LIVER
If the renal function is impaired, correction of the dosing regimen depending on the CK is required.

APPLICATION FOR CHILDREN
Safety of use in children is not established.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
If the renal function is impaired, correction of the dosing regimen depending on the CK is required.
Capreomycin in high doses can cause a partial neuromuscular blockade.
Use with caution in patients with a tendency to allergic reactions, especially with drug allergies.
During the period of treatment should regularly monitor the indicators of kidney function, conduct audiometry and assess the function of the vestibular apparatus, monitor the level of potassium in the blood plasma.
Safety of use in children is not established.

DRUG INTERACTION
Do not use simultaneously with parenteral anti-tuberculosis drugs that have oto and nephrotoxicity.

Use with caution in combination with polymyxin, colistin, amikacin, gentamicin, tobramycin, vancomycin, kanamycin, neomycin because of the risk of additive nephro- and ototoxic effects.
