PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT
Antifungal drug. Clotrimazole, the active substance of Kanesten spray, is an imidazole derivative and has a broad spectrum of antimycotic action. The mechanism of action of clotrimazole is associated with inhibition of ergosterol synthesis, which leads to a disruption in the structure and functions of the cytoplasmic membrane of fungi. Has fungistatic or fungicidal activity depending on the concentration in the focus of infection.
Kanesten is active against dermatophytes, yeast-like fungi, mold fungi, as well as pathogens of multi-colored lichen (Pityriasis vers.) And excite erythrasms. Along with antimycotic, Kanesten has antimicrobial action against Trichomonas vaginalis, Gram-positive (Streptococcus, Staphylococcus) and Gram-negative microorganisms (Bacteroides, Gardnerella vaginalis).
In vitro in concentrations of 0.5-10 Ојg / ml clotrimazole inhibits the reproduction of bacteria of the family Corynebacteria and Gram-positive cocci (with the exception of enterococci) and has a trichomonaside effect at a concentration of 100 Ојg / ml.
Primarily resistant strains of clotrimazole-sensitive fungi are very rare; the development of secondary religiosity is observed only in individual cases and only under certain therapeutic conditions.
PHARMACOKINETICS
Clotrimazole is practically not absorbed through intact and inflamed skin. The resulting peak clotrimazole concentrations in the blood plasma are below 0.001 Ојg / ml, which is confirmed by the fact that clotrimazole, when applied topically to the skin, does not lead to significant systemic or side effects.
INDICATIONS
Fungal diseases of the skin and mucous membranes caused by dermatophytes, yeast-like fungi, mold fungi, and pathogens that are sensitive to clotrimazole:
- mycoses of feet, brushes, trunk, skin folds;
- pityriasis lichen, erythrasma.
DOSING MODE
Apply externally. Spray Kanesten spray a thin layer on the affected skin 2 times / day.
The duration of therapy is individual and depends on the severity of the localization of the disease. To achieve full recovery, do not stop the treatment with cream immediately after the disappearance of acute symptoms of inflammation or subjective complaints. The duration of therapy should be about 4 weeks on average.
Dermatomycoses are cured, mainly within 3-4 weeks, erythrasma - 2-4 weeks, multi-colored lichen - 1-3 weeks. In fungal diseases of the skin of the legs, it is recommended to continue therapy for about 2 weeks after the relief of the symptoms of the disease.
SIDE EFFECT

CONTRAINDICATIONS
- hypersensitivity to clotrimazole or other components of the drug.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Although not established that during pregnancy and lactation Kanesten spray has a negative effect on the mother and fetus, nevertheless, in the first 3 months of pregnancy the drug can be used only after consulting a doctor.

OVERDOSE
