PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT
The effect of this complex preparation is due to its constituents. Methenamine belongs to the class of antiseptics and disinfectants, to the group of aldehydes. The action is based on the ability of the drug to decompose in an acidic environment with the formation of formaldehyde, which in this case has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.
The complex salt of metenamine is present to fill the deficiency of calcium ions, to reduce the permeability of the vascular wall (which is typical for any inflammation).
INDICATIONS
- symptomatic treatment of acute respiratory diseases and "catarrhal" diseases (as part of complex therapy).
DOSING MODE
The drug should be taken by the adult with the initial symptoms of a cold. Inside for 1 -2 tablets 3-4 times / day. The course of treatment is 3-5 days.
SIDE EFFECT
Dyspeptic disorders are possible, when the appearance of which the drug should be discontinued.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
- hypoapidity of gastric juice;
- liver failure;
- chronic renal failure;
- Pregnancy;
- lactation period;
- childhood;
hypersensitivity.

OVERDOSE
Symptoms: sharp irritation of the conjunctiva and mucous membranes of the respiratory tract, dyspeptic disorders (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea), glomerulonephritis.
Treatment: it is recommended to take tioctic acid, folic acid, ascorbic acid, pyridoxine and nicotinic acid preparations.
