PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT

The blocker of histamine H 1 -receptors.
Has anti-allergic effect. The drug affects the histamine-dependent stage of allergic reactions, reduces the migration of eosinophils, inhibits the release of inflammatory mediators at the cellular stage of allergic reactions. Prevents development and facilitates the course of allergic reactions, has antipruritic effect. Virtually no anticholinergic and antiserotonin action. In therapeutic doses, it practically does not cause sedation.
PHARMACOKINETICS

Data on the pharmacokinetics of the drug Zincet are not available.

INDICATIONS

Symptomatic therapy:

-Allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis (including year-round and seasonal);

-hair fever (hay fever);

-Allergic dermatoses, accompanied by itching and rashes;

-Idiopathic urticaria.

DOSING MODE

The drug is prescribed for adults and children over the age of 12 years , 10 mg (1 tablet or 2 teaspoons of syrup) 1 time / day.

Children aged 6-12 years are prescribed 10 mg (1 table or 2 teaspoons of syrup) 1 time / day or 5 mg (1/2 table or 1 teaspoon of syrup) 2 times / day (morning and evening) .

Children aged 2-6 years are prescribed 2.5 mg (1/2 teaspoon of syrup) 2 times / day or 5 mg (1 teaspoon of syrup) 1 time / day.

To patients of advanced age or with the expressed infringements of function of a liver and-or kidneys the preparation prescribe in the reduced dose.

The drug is taken regardless of food intake.

Tablets should be swallowed whole, washed down with a small amount of water.

SIDE EFFECT

From the side of the central nervous system: headache, dizziness, drowsiness.

From the digestive system: dry mouth, indigestion, abdominal pain, flatulence.

Allergic reactions: in isolated cases - hives, swelling, dyspnea (in these cases, the drug should be stopped immediately).

CONTRAINDICATIONS

-increased sensitivity to hydroxyzine, cetirizine and other components of the drug.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION

The drug is not recommended for use during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding).

APPLICATION FOR FUNCTIONS OF THE LIVER

Patients with severe renal dysfunction should be prescribed a reduced dose.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Caution should be given to the drug Zincet to elderly patients or patients with impaired liver or kidney function.

If you miss a dose of the drug, the next dose should be taken as soon as possible.
In the event that the time of the next administration of the drug is approaching, the next dose should be taken on schedule, without increasing the total dose.
The patient should be warned about the need to avoid the simultaneous use of Zincet with other drugs without prescribing a doctor.

Data on the interaction of cetirizine with ethanol have not been obtained to date, despite this use of alcohol against the background of the use of the drug Zincet is not recommended.

Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and manage mechanisms

During the period of treatment with Sincet, one should avoid performing work that requires a high rate of psychomotor reactions (for example, motor vehicle management).

OVERDOSE

Symptoms: when taking the drug at a dose of more than 50 mg (5 tab.), Pronounced drowsiness was noted; in children, an overdose of the drug may be manifested by anxiety, increased irritability, possibly the appearance of symptoms due to anticholinergic action (dry mouth, urinary retention, constipation).

Treatment: gastric lavage, the appointment of activated charcoal, if necessary, conduct symptomatic therapy.

DRUG INTERACTION

With the simultaneous use of Zincet with bronchodilators containing theophylline, an increase in the incidence of adverse reactions is possible.
