INSTRUCTION FOR THE SPECIALIST.
Description of the drug approved by the manufacturer for the printed edition of 2005.
PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT
Adapalene represents a new generation of synthetic retinoids and is a derivative of naphthoic acid. Adapalene has sebostatic, comedonolytic / anticomedogenic and anti-inflammatory effects.
The drug acts on follicular hyperkeratosis, regulating the process of keratinization and desquamation - has pronounced comedonolytic activity (affects open and closed comedones) and anticomedogenic action (prevents the formation of micro-medones).
The main mechanism of action is selective binding to nuclear RA? -receptors of epidermal cells, in contrast to the indiscriminate binding of retinoids of previous generations. This mechanism regulates the final differentiation of keratinocytes, which ensures the normalization of the keratinization process and the reduction of the prerequisites for the formation of microcosmodes.
Proven anti-inflammatory effect of adapalene: inhibition of lipoxygenase, arichidonic acid, cytokines. In vitro and in vivo exhibits high anti-inflammatory activity, comparable in strength to betamethasone and indomethacin, by influencing inflammation factors.
Adapalene does not have a photosensitizing effect.

Possible simultaneous use of funds for make-up and moisturizers, not conducive to the formation of comedones.
