PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT

Antibacterial preparation.

It is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, incl.
Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus vulgaris, Salmonella spp.
The drug is also active against Trichomonas vaginalis and Candida albicans.

Has a local vasoconstrictor and hemostatic effect.

When topically applied, it quickly covers the altered tissue with a white opalescent layer that persists for 2-7 days.
Thus, necrotic tissues are separated from healthy tissues, thus creating favorable conditions for regeneration.
The use of Vagotil does not lead to the appearance of scars.

PHARMACOKINETICS

Data on the pharmacokinetics of the drug Vagotil are not available.

INDICATIONS

- erosion of the vagina and cervix (including pressure caused by pessaries);

- Vaginitis caused by Trichomonas vaginalis and Candida albicans;

- bleeding after diagnostic biopsy and removal of polyps, electrocoagulation of cervical erosion;

- local treatment of difficult healing wounds, incl.
trophic ulcers of the lower leg;
- for the purpose of hemostasis with small surgical and dental interventions.

DOSING MODE

The drug is intended for topical use only.

With erosion of the vagina and cervix for 1 to 3 minutes impregnated with a drug swab, excess drug should be removed with a dry swab.
The procedure should be repeated 2-3 times a week, but not more than 10 days.
With ulcers, cracks in the mucous membrane, burns, and also for syringing the vagina, use a solution obtained by diluting 10-15 ml of the drug in 1 liter of warm water.

For the purpose of hemostasis , a tampon impregnated with a preparation for 1-3 minutes is applied to the bleeding site.

SIDE EFFECT

Allergic reactions: itching, rash, burning, local irritation, anaphylaxis.

When performing gynecological procedures: redness, swelling of the vagina and vulva, the feeling of a foreign body in the vagina.

When applied to the oral mucosa: damage to the enamel of the teeth.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

- Pregnancy;

- lactation;

- use during menstruation in the treatment of gynecological diseases;

- In the treatment of gynecological diseases, sexual activity should be abandoned and soap solutions should not be used for hygienic procedures;

- Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

With caution should be used in caries during dental operations.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION

Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding).

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

The drug should be used strictly according to the doctor's prescription.

In the treatment of the drug, no other medicines for topical administration are prescribed.

When used in dentistry, it is necessary to avoid getting the drug on the tooth enamel, in case of contact with the teeth, rinse the mouth thoroughly with warm water.

In vaginal smears of HIV-infected women receiving polycreatic, an increased number of copies of HIV-1 RNA was found, which can facilitate infection of the partner.

OVERDOSE

At present, no cases of drug overdose have been reported.

DRUG INTERACTION

With preparations that have an alkaline reaction, an exothermic reaction occurs, which intensifies the chemical burn of the mucous membranes.
