PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT
Complexing compound.
The mechanism of action is associated with the ability to form stable, slightly dissociating complexes with many dibasic and tribasic metals. These complexes are usually easily soluble in water and when formed in the body are relatively quickly excreted in the urine. Does not change the blood content of potassium and calcium. Has no significant effect on the excretion of uranium, polonium, radium and radioactive strontium.
INDICATIONS
Acute and chronic poisoning with plutonium, radioactive yttrium, cesium, zinc, lead and a mixture of uranium fission products, revealing the carrier of these radioisotopes.

DOSING MODE
A single dose of 250 mg, in acute cases, it is possible to increase the dose to 1.5 g. Enter iv slowly, the interval between each administration is 1-2 days, for the course of treatment 10-20 injections.
Treatment is carried out by separate courses with intervals between them 3-4 months.
When the acute effects of lead intoxication (lead colic) are injected iv in 1-2 g.

To detect the carrier of radioactive isotopes and lead, the drug is used for 3 consecutive days in therapeutic doses and the isotope and lead content in urine is examined.
Preliminary for 3 days, a control (background) study is performed.
SIDE EFFECT
Possible: nausea, vomiting, symptoms of coronary circulation.

In some cases: dizziness, headaches, pain in the extremities and in the chest.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

APPLICATION FOR FUNCTIONS OF THE LIVER
Contraindicated in the defeat of kidney parenchyma, with arterial hypertension with impaired renal function.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
With long-term use, the calcium trisodium pentetate is reduced in relation to excretion of radioactive isotopes.
To avoid damage to the kidneys and electrolyte imbalances, as well as to restore efficacy, it is necessary to observe recommended breaks between treatment courses.
During the treatment period, it is necessary to perform an overall urinalysis at least once a week and determine the excretion of radioactive isotopes in the urine.
