Description of the drug approved by the manufacturer for the printed edition of 2013.

Pikovit В® forte tablets contain 11 of the most important vitamins in amounts corresponding to the recommended daily intake for children over the age of 7 years.
Vitamins of group B (B 1 , B 2 , B 6 , B 12 , pantothenic acid and nicotinamide) are involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats.

Folic acid (vitamin B c ) is necessary for the normal synthesis, regeneration and functioning of blood cells.

Retinol (vitamin A) is necessary for the development of epithelial cells and the synthesis of visual pigment.

Kolekaltsiferol (vitamin D) regulates the intake of calcium and promotes proper mineralization of bones and teeth.

Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) promotes absorption of iron and takes part in many oxidation-reduction processes in the body.

Tocopherol (vitamin E) is a physiological antioxidant that protects cell membranes and supports the function of cells.

Pikovit В® forte does not contain sugar.

Water-soluble vitamins (groups B, C) are well absorbed in quantities corresponding to the daily needs of the organism.
Quantities exceeding the level of tissue saturation are excreted in the urine, sometimes with feces. Regular use of these vitamins is important to maintain the necessary concentrations in the tissues, because they accumulate in the body in limited quantities.
After ingestion, fat-soluble vitamins A and D are well absorbed in the small intestine in the presence of fats.
Absorption of vitamin E is rather weak (25-85% of the dose).

The drug is recommended for use in children aged 7 years and older with increased body requirement for vitamins:

- reduced concentration of attention against the background of increased fatigue in school-age children;

- increased physical activity (including when doing sports);

- increased need for vitamins against a background of reduced appetite;

- as part of complex therapy of diseases when prescribing antibiotics;

- increased demand for vitamins with reduced seasonal consumption of vegetables and fruits.

Tablets should be kept in the mouth until they are completely absorbed.

Children aged 7 years and over are prescribed 1 tab.
1 time / day after a meal.
With poor appetite, the child should be given 1 tablet / day for 2 months.

Possible: allergic reactions.
In such cases, stop using the drug and consult a doctor.
Due to the presence of 0.6 g of maltitol in tablets Pikovit В® forte, when used in doses exceeding recommended, it is possible to develop diarrhea.

- hypervitaminosis A;

- hypervitaminosis D;

- children's age till 7 years;

- phenylketonuria (due to the presence of aspartame containing phenylalanine in the formulation);

- Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Data on the safety of the drug during pregnancy and during breastfeeding are not provided.

Contraindicated in children under the age of 7 years .

Children aged 7 years and over are prescribed 1 tab.
1 time / day after a meal.
With poor appetite, the child should be given 1 tablet / day for 2 months.

If it is necessary to use other multivitamin preparations at the same time as Pikwit forte, you should consult a doctor.

Patients with diabetes can take Pikovit В® forte tablets, but remember that 1 tablet contains 0.6 g of maltitol.
For the metabolism of maltitol, insulin is needed, although due to slow hydrolysis and absorption in the digestive tract, the need for insulin is small. The energy value of 1 tablet is approximately 6 kJ (1.4 kcal).

When an overdose develops against the background of taking the drug in high doses, more than 1 month, it is possible to develop hypervitaminosis of vitamins A and D.

Prolonged use of vitamin B 6 in high doses can cause the development of peripheral neuropathy.

Data on the drug interaction of Pikovit В® forte are not available.

The drug is approved for use as a means of OTC.

The drug should be stored out of reach of children, protected from light, dry place at a temperature of no higher than 30 В° C.
Shelf life - 3 years.
