Refers to the vitamins of group B, is a derivative of pantothenic acid.
It plays an important role in the processes of acetylation and oxidation, participates in carbohydrate and fat metabolism, in the synthesis of acetylcholine, corticosteroids, porphyrins. Has a pronounced effect on the formation and function of epithelial tissue, has some anti-inflammatory activity.
For oral and topical administration: inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity, nose, larynx, respiratory tract (including after tonsillectomy), gastric mucosa, paresthesia with neurological diseases, treatment of mucous membrane defects in the uterus.

For parenteral administration: postoperative intestinal atony, paralytic ileus, pantothenic acid deficiency in malabsorption syndrome.

For external use: wounds and burns;
Dermatitis, abscesses, boils, bedsores, intertrigo; treatment and prevention of cracks and inflammation of the nipples of the breast during lactation; nursing of infants.
Inside adults - 200-400 mg / day.
Children - 100-300 mg / day. Parenteral (sc, in / m, in / in) - 500 mg / day.
Dexpanthenol in the form of lozenges for absorption is used in a dose of 200-600 mg / day.

The solution for external use is used to rinse the mouth and throat in undiluted or diluted (boiled water in a ratio of 1: 1) form;
for inhalations - in undiluted form; for rubbing into the scalp - in undiluted or diluted (water or alcohol in a ratio of 1: 3) form.
Ointment or cream is applied to the affected skin surface 1 time / day;
on the area of ​​the nipple of the breast is imposed as a compress; when treating defects of the mucous membrane of the throat of the uterus - appoint one or more times / day.
Rarely: allergic reactions.

Hypersensitivity to dexpanthenol.
For parenteral use - hemophilia, mechanical obstruction of the intestine.
It is possible to use dexpanthenol during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding) according to the indications.

Use with caution in patients with chronic renal failure.

With the simultaneous parenteral administration of dexpanthenol with antibiotics, barbiturates, the risk of developing allergic reactions increases.
