PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT

Combination drug for symptomatic therapy of acute respiratory infections and colds.

Paracetamol has antipyretic and analgesic effect.
Eliminates fever, reduces headache, pain in muscles and joints, which often accompany the flu.
Promethazine is a blocker of histamine H 1 -receptors.
Eliminates edema of the nasal mucosa and upper respiratory tract, restoring nasal breathing and reducing the amount of discharge from the nose.
Dextromethorphan is an antitussive drug that depresses the excitability of the cough center and suppresses cough of any origin.

The use of the drug helps reduce the symptoms of acute respiratory disease and influenza, which in turn improves sleep.

PHARMACOKINETICS

Data on the pharmacokinetics of Koldrex В® Knight are not available.

INDICATIONS

To alleviate symptoms of acute respiratory disease and influenza at night, including:

- headache;

- chills;

- pain in the muscles;

- Sore throat;

- rhinitis;

- dry cough.

DOSING MODE

The drug is taken only once / day, at night, just before bedtime.

Adults (including elderly patients) and children over the age of 12 years, the drug is prescribed in a single dose of 20 ml (4 tablespoons of 5 ml).

Children aged 6 to 12 years, the drug is prescribed in a single dose of 10 ml (2 tablespoons of 5 ml).

SIDE EFFECT

Allergic reactions: skin rash, itching, urticaria, angioedema.

Dermatological reactions: photosensitization.

From the side of the central nervous system: rarely - drowsiness, dizziness, anxiety, impaired coordination of movements, blurred vision, disorientation.

From the hemopoietic system: rarely - anemia, thrombocytopenia.

On the part of the digestive system: dry mouth.

Other: retention of urination, paresis of accommodation and bronchial obstruction (these side effects are temporary and go after discontinuation of the drug).

With prolonged use in high doses, there is a risk of serious violations of the liver and kidneys.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

- liver disease;

- kidney disease;

- simultaneous use of antidepressants, including MAO inhibitors and up to 14 days after their withdrawal;

- benign prostatic hypertrophy;

- deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase;

- Blood diseases;

- epilepsy;

- children's age till 6 years;

- Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

With caution should prescribe the drug to patients with bronchial asthma or other diseases of the respiratory system, glaucoma, urinary retention, cardiovascular disease, while using indirect anticoagulants (warfarin), anxiolytics and hypnotics.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

The patient should be informed that if the symptoms persist after 3 days of use, stop taking it and consult a doctor.

The drug Coldrex В® Knight should not be taken concurrently with other drugs containing paracetamol, as well as with alcoholic beverages.

Caution should be exercised when using the day for other cold medicines or preparations containing paracetamol.
Do not take Coldroom В® Knight overnight if the dose of paracetamol taken during the day is already 4 grams in total.
The drug should be taken only at recommended doses.

Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and manage mechanisms

Against the background of the drug may be drowsy.
In this case, it is necessary to refrain from driving vehicles and doing other work that requires a high concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.
OVERDOSE

Symptoms: pallor of the skin, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, after 1-2 days - signs of liver damage, in severe cases, hepatic insufficiency and coma.

Treatment: gastric lavage during the first hours after taking the drug, adsorbents (activated charcoal).
A specific antidote for paracetamol poisoning is acetylcysteine.
DRUG INTERACTION

The drug enhances the effect of indirect anticoagulants (coumarin derivatives), ethanol, hypnotics, anxiolytics and MAO inhibitors.

Simultaneous use of stimulators of microsomal oxidation in the liver (barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants) increases the risk of hepatotoxic action of paracetamol when applied in high doses.

Inhibitors of microsomal oxidation (cimetidine) reduce the risk of hepatotoxic effects of paracetamol.

The drug may reduce the effectiveness of uricosuric drugs.

Metoclopramide and domperidone are increased, and colestyramine reduces paracetamol absorption.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF STORAGE

The drug should be stored out of reach of children at a temperature of no higher than 25 В° C.
