PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT
Antiseptic.
It is an iodine in the form of a complex of polyvinylpyrrolidone iodine. The concentration of active iodine from 0.1% to 1%. Has a wide spectrum of antimicrobial action. It is active against bacteria (including mycobacterium tuberculosis), fungi, viruses, protozoa. Polyvinylpyrrolidone iodine refers to iodophors, which bind iodine. Upon contact with the skin and mucous membranes, iodine is gradually and uniformly released, having a bactericidal effect on microorganisms. At the site of application of povidone-iodine preparations, a thin colored layer remains, which is maintained until all the iodine is released, after which its effect ceases.
INDICATIONS
For the treatment of the patient's skin before and after operations, research (biopsy, puncture, taking blood, injections, etc.), pre- and postoperative treatment of the hands of surgeons, medical personnel, hygienic hand treatment for the care of infected patients, tool treatment and items of care for patients.

For topical application: infections of the nasopharynx, treatment of infected skin lesions (burns, wounds, ulcers, abrasions), prevention of infection of wound surfaces, treatment of nonspecific vaginitis, trichomoniasis.

DOSING MODE
Individual, depending on the indications and the dosage form used.

SIDE EFFECT
Perhaps a local manifestation of hypersensitivity to iodine (itching, hyperemia), which requires the withdrawal of treatment.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hyperthyroidism, thyroid adenoma, renal failure, pregnancy, lactation (breastfeeding), hypersensitivity to iodine.
Do not use to treat skin in preterm and newborn babies.
PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Contraindicated in pregnancy, during lactation.

APPLICATION FOR FUNCTIONS OF THE LIVER
Contraindicated in renal failure.

APPLICATION FOR CHILDREN
Do not use to treat skin in preterm and newborn babies.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
The solution of povidone-iodine should not be used in combination with other antiseptic agents, enzymatic ointments.
Before the systematic use of povidone-iodine drugs, trial use is advisable. In the presence of blood, the bactericidal effect of povidone-iodine may decrease. Avoid getting povidone-iodine drugs in the eyes.
DRUG INTERACTION
Pharmaceutically incompatible with disinfectants containing mercury;
oxidizers, alkali salts and substances with acid reaction.
