RILMENIDIN (Rilmenidine).

     2-[(Ditsiklopropilmetil) amino] -2 - oxazoline.

     Synonyms : Albarel, Tenaksum, Albarel, Tenaxum.

     Is electoral stimulant central and peripheral imidazoline (I1) receptors.

     Quickly and completely absorbed in the digestive tract, bioavailability of about 100%, S max is 1,5-2 h, T? 8-h; being small biotransformation in the liver, kidneys appears mostly unchanged.

     Applied with arterial hypertension.

     Assign the interior of 0,001 grams (1 mg) one time a day if necessary daily intake can be increased by one month to 0,002 grams (2 mg) (2 admission). Antihypertensive effect persisted for 24 h.

     Possible side effects : drowsiness or insomnia, depression, convulsions, Orthostatic Hypotension, palpitation, dry mouth, diarrhea and constipation, nausea.

     The drug is not suitable for depression, disrupting kidney function, pregnancy and breastfeeding.

     Product : pills to 0,001 g (1 mg) (N. 10, 30).
