PROTARGOL (Protargolum).

     Synonym : Argentum proteinicum.

     Brown yellow or light brown powder odourless, and slightly slabogorkogo binder taste. The easily soluble in water, nerastvorim in alcohol, ether, chloroform. Includes 7, 8, 8, 3% silver.

     Applied as a binder, antiseptics and antiinflammatory for lubricating mucous membranes upper respiratory tract (1-5% solution), for washing urethra and bladder channel to get gonoreynom chronic (1 - 3% solution), the eye drops with conjunctivitis, blefarite, Infections (1 - 3% solution).

     Because of the modern antimicrobial drugs (sulfanilamidy, antibiotics, etc.), protargol (as other drugs silver) wide application currently is not.
