Glimepirid (glimepiride)
GLIMEPIRID (Glimepiride).
1-[[para-[2 - (3-methyl Etil-4- oxo pirrolin-1- karboksamid) ethyl] phenyl] - sulphonyl] -3 - (methyl trans-4- BUTYLPEROXY) urea.
Synonym : Amaril, Amaryl.
The white or yellowish white crystalline powder. Nerastvorim almost in the water.
Relatively new (early 1990). Hypoglycemic derivative product group sulfonylureas.
In action similar to other derivative sulfonylureas, used to treat type II diabetes (insulinnezavisimogo).
It has a relatively high intensity and reasonable.
Totally absorbed, C max at 2-3 h, T? 5-8 hrs; biotransformation are in the liver, kidneys predominantly displayed.
Assign from 0,001 g dose (1 mg), 1 per day (before breakfast, squeezed water). If necessary, increase the dose of 1 mg every 1-2 weeks to 6 mg (in some cases up to 8 mg). Dose is derived from the monitoring of the content of sugar in the blood and urine.
Possible side effects : headache, dizziness, temporary visual impairment, neuralgia, intracellular cholestasis, hypoglycemia, allergic reactions, etc.
Indications are basically the same as that glibenklamida and other drugs group sulfonylureas.
Product : pills to 0,001; 0,002; 0,003; 0,004 and 0,006 grams (1; 2; 3; 4 and 6 mg) (N 15, 30, 120).
