BIPERIDEN (Biperiden).

1-[Bitsiklo (2,2,1) gept-5- en d] -1 piperidino-1- phenyl-propanol.

     Available as hydrochloride, and lactate.

     Synonyms : Akineton, Akineton, Dekinet, Ipsatol, Paraden, Tasmolin.

     The white crystalline powder. Poor soluble in water and alcohol.

     The structure and pharmacologically similar to tsiklodolu.

     Entering into bioavailability of about 30%, S-max 1/2-2 hours; Out of metabolites in urine and faeces.

     Assign with parkinsonizme and extrapiramidale violations caused Neuroleptics.

     Applied inside or parenteral (intravenous or intramuscular injection).

     Inside adults appoint from 0,001 g (1 mg), 2 times a day; If necessary, the daily increase in the daily dose of 0,002 grams (2 mg) to a maximum daily dose of 0,016 g (reception 2-4); When extrapiramidale violations caused Neuroleptics are applying for 0,001-0,004 grams (1-4 mg).      Compatible with alcohol.

     Method of issuance : pills to 0,002 grams (2 mg) (N 20) and retard tablets of 0,004 grams (4 mg) (N. 10, 20, 30, 60); 0.5% solution in capsules on 1 ml (N 5).
