PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT
Vitamin E. It has an antioxidant effect, participates in the biosynthesis of heme and proteins, cell proliferation, tissue respiration, other important processes of tissue metabolism, prevents hemolysis of erythrocytes, prevents increased permeability and fragility of capillaries.

PHARMACOKINETICS
When taken orally, the absorption is 50%;
in the process of absorption forms a complex with lipoproteins (intracellular carriers of tocopherol). Absorption requires the presence of bile acids. It binds to alpha 1 - and beta-lipoproteins, in part - to serum albumin. If there is a violation of protein metabolism, transport is difficult. C max isachieved in 4 hours. It is deposited in the adrenal glands, pituitary gland, testes, fat and muscle tissue, red blood cells, liver. More than 90% is excreted with bile, 6% - with kidneys.
INDICATIONS
Hypovitaminosis, the state of convalescence after diseases with febrile syndrome, high physical activity, old age, ligamentous apparatus and muscle diseases.Climacteric vegetative disorders.
Neurasthenia in overwork, asthenic neurasthenic syndrome, primary muscular dystrophy, posttraumatic, postinfection secondary myopathy. Degenerative and proliferative changes in the joints and ligamentous apparatus of the spine and large joints.
DOSING MODE
Usually prescribe at 100-300 mg / day.
If necessary, the dose can be increased to 1 g / day.
SIDE EFFECT
Possible: allergic reactions;
when taken in high doses - diarrhea, epigastric pain; with the / m introduction - soreness, infiltration at the injection site.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to tocopherol.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Tocopherol is used during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding) according to the indications.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
With caution should be used in severe cardiosclerosis, myocardial infarction, with an increased risk of thromboembolism.

DRUG INTERACTION
With simultaneous application with tocopherol, the effects of warfarin and dicumarol may change.

There are reports of a decrease in the effectiveness of simultaneous treatment with iron in children.

With simultaneous application of tocopherol with cyclosporin, the absorption of cyclosporin increases.
