PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT

Cephalosporin I generation for oral administration.
It acts bactericidal, disrupting the synthesis of the cell wall of microorganisms.
The drug is active against gram-positive microorganisms: Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus pneumoniae, Corynebacterium diphtheriae;
Gram-negative microorganisms: Neisseria meningitidis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Shigella spp., Salmonella spp., Escherichia coli.
The drug is inactive in relation to Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus spp.
(indole-positive strains), Mycobacterium tuberculosis, anaerobic microorganisms.
PHARMACOKINETICS

Suction

After oral administration, cephalexin is absorbed from the digestive tract.
After taking the drug at a dose of 500 mg C max in the serum is achieved after 1 hour and is about 18 mg / ml. In patients with normal renal function, the therapeutic concentration of the drug in the blood is observed no more than 6 hours.
Distribution

Cefalexin is evenly distributed in the tissues.
High concentrations are noted in all organs (especially in the liver and kidneys); therapeutic concentrations in bile, gallbladder, bones and joints, respiratory tract, pus, breast milk and amniotic fluid.
Excretion

Cephalexin is quickly excreted unchanged in the urine, mainly by glomerular filtration.
80-100% of the oral dose is excreted in the urine for the first 6 hours (completely - after 8 hours).
INDICATIONS

Infectious-inflammatory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to the preparation, including:

Infectious-inflammatory diseases of the upper and lower respiratory tract;

Infectious-inflammatory diseases of the urinary tract;

Infectious-inflammatory diseases of the skin and soft tissues;

- Middle otitis media;

-osteomyelitis;

endometritis;

-gonorrhea.

DOSING MODE

The dosage regimen is set individually, taking into account the severity of the course and localization of the infection, the sensitivity of the pathogen.

Adults with infectious diseases caused by highly sensitive to the drug microorganisms, the drug is prescribed by mouth at a dose of 1-2 g / day.

In infectious diseases caused by less sensitive microorganisms, the drug is prescribed in a dose of 2-4 g / day.

The daily dose of the drug should be at least 1 g.

When prescribing the drug, children are recommended to follow the following scheme:

Rules for the preparation of suspension

To prepare the suspension, add 80 ml of distilled water to a vial containing 2.5 g of the preparation.
In 1 ml of the finished suspension contains 25 mg of cephalexin.Dosage the suspension with a special spoon with two marks: the lower one corresponds to 2.5 ml (62.5 mg) and the upper one - 5 ml (125 mg). Shake the bottle before use.
SIDE EFFECT

On the part of the digestive system: sometimes - nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, loss of appetite, diarrhea, transient increase in liver transaminase activity;
cases of development of cholestatic jaundice, hepatitis are described.
From the side of the central nervous system: hallucinations, headache, dizziness, drowsiness.

On the part of the hematopoiesis system: in isolated cases - reversible leukopenia, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia.

Allergic reactions: skin rash, itching, dermatitis, eosinophilia;
rarely - angioedema.
Other: arthralgia, candidiasis.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

-increased sensitivity to cephalosporins and penicillins.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION

The use of Cefalexin-AKOS during pregnancy and lactation is possible only in cases where the intended benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus.
If it is necessary to use the drug during lactation, it is recommended to stop breastfeeding.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Patients with hypersensitivity to penicillins may develop allergic reactions to cephalosporin antibiotics.

During the period of application of the drug, a positive direct Coombs reaction is possible, as well as a false positive urine reaction to glucose.

During the treatment with cephalexin-AKOS, alcohol should be avoided.

OVERDOSE

At present, no cases of overdose of cefalexin-AKOS have been reported.
