PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT

Hydrophilic fibers contained in the shell of oval plantain seeds, increase in volume due to water absorption and cause reflex enhancement of motor activity, restoring normal activity of the large intestine.
The gel-forming fraction promotes softening of the stool and acts as a "lubricant", facilitating the emptying of the intestine with constipation and painful defecation in patients with perianal lesions.
INDICATIONS

- Acute and chronic constipation;

- Anal cracks;

- hemorrhoids;

- Postoperative period with interventions in the anorectal area (in order to create a softer stool consistency).

DOSING MODE

Inside.

For 1 sachet 1-3 times a day for 30 minutes before meals or 2 hours after meals.
Before using the contents of 1 sachet pour a glass of cold water, stir and immediately drink, then drink one more glass of liquid. The course of treatment: with acute constipation - until the disappearance of constipation (1-2 days); with chronic constipation - up to 4 weeks, after a one-week break, the course can be repeated; with anal fissures and hemorrhoids - until the absence of discomfort during defecation (up to 4 weeks, after a week break, a repetition of the course is possible); in the postoperative period with interventions in the anorectal area - on the recommendation of a doctor (up to 4 weeks).
SIDE EFFECT

Allergic reactions are possible.

In the first days of treatment, there may be a feeling of overflow in the abdomen.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

- hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;

- organic narrowing of the gastrointestinal tract;

- intestinal obstruction;

- abdominal pain of unknown origin;

- deficiency of sugar isomaltase;

- intolerance to fructose;

- glucose-galactose malabsorption;

Decompensated diabetes mellitus;

- children's age till 18 years;

- phenylketonuria.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION

The use of the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding is possible according to the doctor's prescription.

APPLICATION FOR CHILDREN

Contraindicated for children under 18 years.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

When taking the drug should drink at least 1.5 liters of fluid per day.
Incorrect intake (with insufficient fluid) can lead to irritation of the esophagus or intestine, especially in the elderly. In patients with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, a reduction in the insulin dose may be required.

The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms.

OVERDOSE

Cases of an overdose have not been revealed.

DRUG INTERACTION

Do not prescribe simultaneously with antidiarrheal drugs, as well as with drugs that depress the bowel motility.

Fibralax can slow the absorption of concomitant medications.
It should be observed an interval of 30-60 minutes between the intake of Fnbralax and other drugs.
