PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT
Herbal remedy for cough. Has expectorant, mucolytic and bronchospasmolytic effect.
Reduces the viscosity of sputum and promotes its spillage.
PHARMACOKINETICS
Since the preparation is a dry extract of ivy leaves and contains a complex of biologically active substances, it is not possible to carry out pharmacokinetic studies.
INDICATIONS
As an expectorant in the treatment of acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract, accompanied by a cough with hard-to-recover sputum.
DOSING MODE
Inside. Children aged 1-3 years, 10 drops 3-5 times a day; children 4-7 years, 15 drops 3-5 times a day; children over 7 years and adults 20 drops 3-5 times a day. Drops must be taken before eating. Young children are recommended to give drops with a little water. The course of treatment is determined by the severity of the disease, the minimum course of treatment should be 1 week.
To fix the therapeutic effect, it is recommended that after the disappearance of the symptoms of the disease continue the treatment for another 2-3 days. If there is no improvement, you need to see a doctor. Shake before use!
Inhalation therapy with the use of Prospan В® , drops for ingestion and inhalation .
For carrying out inhalations using the preparation Prospan В® , drops for ingestion and inhalation, all standard devices and devices for spraying without heating (nebulizers) are suitable. To prevent side effects of irritation due to the content of ethyl alcohol, during the inhalation the drug must be diluted with drinking water in a ratio of 1: 2.
In a special inhalation device, drip 20-25 drops of the drug and dilute with potable water at room temperature in a ratio of 1: 2. Inhalation should be carried out 3-5 times a day.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Ingestion: hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, children's age (up to 1 year); alcoholism and other conditions in which the intake of ethyl alcohol is contraindicated.
In inhalation mode of use: hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, bronchial asthma, predisposition to laryngospasm, children under 2 years of age (the possibility of laryngospasm).

The preparation contains 47% vol. % of alcohol.
The maximum single dose for adults (20 drops) contains 0.25 grams of absolute ethyl alcohol, the maximum daily intake for adults contains 1.27 grams of absolute ethyl alcohol. In one drop of the drug contains 0.013 grams of absolute ethyl alcohol. Does not contain sugar, preservatives or colorings.
During storage, slight turbidity of the liquid, sediment formation and slight changes in taste are possible, which does not affect the therapeutic effect of the preparation.
When using the drug, care should be taken when driving vehicles and engaging in other potentially hazardous activities requiring increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions.
OVERDOSE
Taking a dose that is significantly higher than the prescribed daily dose (more than 3 times) can cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. In this case, the patient should consult a doctor. Treatment: discontinuation of the drug; symptomatic therapy.
DRUG INTERACTION
The drug should not be used simultaneously with antitussive drugs, as this makes it difficult to cough up thinned phlegm.
