Description of the drug approved by the manufacturer for the printed edition of 2014.

PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT

A combined preparation containing a complex of vitamins and minerals, which are important factors in metabolic processes.

Retinol (vitamin A) is involved in the synthesis of various substances (proteins, lipids, mucopolysaccharides) and provides a normal function of the skin, mucous membranes, as well as the organ of vision.

Kolekaltsiferol (vitamin D 3 ) maintains the balance of calcium and phosphorus in the body.

Thiamine (vitamin B 1 ) normalizes the activity of the heart, contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system.

Riboflavin (vitamin B 2 ) promotes the processes of tissue regeneration, incl.
skin cells.
Pyridoxine (vitamin B 6 ) helps maintain the structure and function of bones, teeth, gums;
affects the erythropoiesis, promotes the normal functioning of the nervous system.
Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B 12 ) is involved in erythropoiesis, contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system.

Vitamins of group B are involved in the formation of various enzymes that regulate the metabolism in the body.

Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is involved in the oxidation of a number of biologically active substances, regulation of metabolism in connective tissue, carbohydrate metabolism, blood clotting and tissue regeneration, stimulates the formation of steroid hormones, normalizes the permeability of capillaries.
Vitamin C increases the body's resistance to infections, reduces inflammatory reactions.
Folic acid (vitamin B c ) stimulates erythropoiesis.

Calcium is involved in the formation of bone tissue, blood clotting, transmission of nerve impulses, and reduction of skeletal and smooth muscles.

Phosphorus , along with calcium, participates in the formation of bones and teeth, and also participates in the processes of energy metabolism.

INDICATIONS

Prevention of deficiency of vitamins and minerals:

- with inadequate and unbalanced nutrition;

- due to lack of appetite;

- When overworked in school-age children.

In the complex therapy of diseases accompanied by the appointment of antibiotics.

DOSING MODE

The drug should be taken orally.
The tablets should be kept in the mouth until dissolved.
Children aged 4 to 6 years are recommended to take 1 tablet.
4-5 times / day.
Children aged 7 to 14 years are recommended to take 1 tablet.
5-7 times / day.
The duration of the course of taking the drug is 20-30 days.
The repeated course of taking the drug is possible on the recommendation of a doctor. In the absence of appetite in children Pikovit В® can be given to children within 2 months.
SIDE EFFECT

Possible: allergic reactions.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

- hypervitaminosis A;

- hypervitaminosis D;

- Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

APPLICATION FOR CHILDREN

This dosage form is recommended for children from 4 years of age.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

When using Pikovita, the possible staining of urine in yellow is completely harmless and is explained by the presence of riboflavin in the preparation.

It is not recommended to take Pikovit В® together with other products containing vitamins and minerals.

High doses of glycerol can cause headaches, gastrointestinal disorders (diarrhea).

Pikovit В® contains azo dyes E124 and E110, which can cause a hypersensitivity reaction with an asthmatic component.
Similar reactions are more often observed in patients with hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid.
The preparation contains 192 mg of lactose, 611 mg of sucrose, 160 mg of glucose and 134 mg of sorbitol, so the drug is not recommended for children with congenital intolerance to glucose and fructose, glucose / galactose malabsorption syndromes and sugarase / isomaltase deficiency.

OVERDOSE

There were no cases of drug overdose.
The risk of an overdose of Pikovit В® is minimal.
DRUG INTERACTION

The presence of calcium in the preparation causes a delay in absorption in the intestine of antibiotics from the group of tetracyclines, as well as antimicrobial agents - derivatives of fluoroquinolones.
It should be observed between the drug intake interval of at least 2 hours.
Vitamin C enhances the effect and side effects of sulfonamides (including crystalluria).

With simultaneous use with Pikovich diuretics from the group of thiazides increases the likelihood of hypercalcemia.

TERMS OF RELEASE FROM PHARMACY

The drug is approved for use as a means of OTC.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF STORAGE

The drug should be stored out of reach of children, dry, protected from light at a temperature of no higher than 25 В° C.
Shelf life - 3 years. Do not use after expiry date.
