PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT

Vaginal contraceptive with spermicidal action.

Suppositories Patentex Oval H at the body temperature are melted and regardless of the amount of vaginal secretion form a foam.

The drug reduces the surface tension of the lipid membrane of spermatozoa and irreversibly paralyzes their ability to move.

The drug has a mechanical effect, t.
spermatozidnoe substance, evenly distributed in the vagina, forms a stable barrier, which prevents the penetration of spermatozoa into the uterus.
The drug Patentex Oval H has a preventive effect against sexually transmitted infections.

PHARMACOKINETICS

Data on the pharmacokinetics of Patentex Oval H are not available.

INDICATIONS

Contraception:

- if necessary, occasional protection from pregnancy (including with irregular sexual life);

- with an irregular menstrual cycle;

- if the woman wishes to use the contraceptive independently of the partner;

- if necessary, stopping (for a short or long time) the use of oral hormonal contraceptives;

- with the simultaneous use of drugs that reduce the effectiveness of oral hormonal contraceptives;

- if there are contraindications to the use of oral contraceptives or to the use of intrauterine contraception.

DOSING MODE

A prerequisite for the effectiveness of Oval H Patentex is its proper application.

Before use, the suppository is removed from the blister in a marked place.
Before each sexual act, the suppository is injected deep into the vagina. The drug becomes active after 10 minutes from the time of administration. During this time, the active spermatocyte substance is evenly distributed across the vagina and forms a stable barrier that prevents the passage of spermatozoa into the uterus.
With prolonged sexual intercourse (more than 1 hour), another introduction of another suppository is necessary.

Before each new intercourse, it is necessary to re-insert the suppository, even in cases where the time interval between two sexual acts is less than 1 hour.

It is possible to use Oval H Patentex for a long period of time.

SIDE EFFECT

The drug is well tolerated by both partners.
In rare cases, there is a feeling of warmth. If the vaginal microflora is disturbed, itching and burning sensation in the vagina (or penis) is possible.
CONTRAINDICATIONS

- Anomalies of development of genital organs;

- cervical erosion;

- Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION

Data on the safety and efficacy of the drug during lactation (breastfeeding) are not provided.

OVERDOSE

Until now, cases of drug overdose Patentex Oval H have not been reported.

DRUG INTERACTION

Patentex Oval H is practically not subjected to systemic absorption, so interaction with other drugs is unlikely.
