PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT

An anticoagulant of direct action for external use from a group of medium molecular heparins.
Has moderate anti-inflammatory, anti-edematous and antithrombotic effect.
It blocks the formation of thrombin, inhibits the activity of hyaluronidase, activates the fibrinolytic properties of the blood.
Gradually released from the gel and penetrating through the skin, heparin reduces the inflammatory process and has an antithrombotic effect, improves microcirculation and activates tissue metabolism, thereby accelerating the processes of resorption of hematomas and thrombi, reduces edema of tissues.
PHARMACOKINETICS

An insignificant amount of heparin is absorbed from the surface of the skin into the systemic circulation.
C max heparin in the blood is noted 8 hours after the application. The excretion of heparin, mainly occurs by the kidneys, T 1/2 -12 h.
INDICATIONS

- Thrombophlebitis of superficial veins;

- localized infiltrates and swelling of soft tissues;

- injuries of tendons and joints;

- bruises of soft tissues and joints;

- Subcutaneous hematomas (including hematomas with closed fractures of the bones of the upper and lower extremities and after phlebectomy in patients with varicose veins).

DOSING MODE

The drug is used externally.

The gel should be applied a thin layer on the affected area at a rate of 3-5 cm gel per skin area 3-5 cm in diameter and gently rubbed into the skin.

Apply 1-3 times / day daily until the disappearance of inflammatory phenomena, an average of 3 to 7 days.
The possibility of a longer treatment is determined by the doctor.
SIDE EFFECT

Possible: skin allergic reactions, skin hyperemia.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

- ulcerative necrotic changes of the skin in places of supposed application of gel;

- traumatic violation of the integrity of the skin;

- decreased blood coagulability;

- thrombocytopenia;

- Children's age (no experience of use);

- Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

With caution should be used with increased vascular permeability.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION

It is possible to use the drug during pregnancy and during breastfeeding, if the intended benefit for the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus.

APPLICATION FOR CHILDREN

Contraindicated in the use of the drug in childhood (experience is not available).

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

It is not recommended to use Lavenum ® for bleeding and in the presence of local purulent processes, and also to apply to open wounds, mucous membranes.

The use of the gel is not recommended for deep vein thrombosis.

OVERDOSE

Overdose is unlikely in connection with the low absorption of the components of the gel.

DRUG INTERACTION

The drug Lavenum ® should not be prescribed externally concomitantly with NSAIDs, antibiotics of the tetracycline group, antihistamines.

It is not recommended to mix the gel with other products for external use.
