PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT
Triterpene glycoside (saponin) from fruits (seeds) of horse chestnut (in the form of sodium salt).
Has a pronounced capillaroprotective activity, has an antiexudative effect.
PHARMACOKINETICS
After oral administration, 50 mg of horse chestnut fruit extract C max in blood plasma is achieved after 2.35 hours and is 25.31 ng / ml.

The binding with plasma proteins is 84%.

T 1/2 is 19.87 hours. After oral administration, 0.11% of the extract of horse chestnut fruit is excreted by the kidneys in the form of escin.

INDICATIONS
Post-thrombophlebitic syndrome and individual symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency of various etiology (including edema, cramps in the gastrocnemius muscles, pain and feeling of heaviness in the legs), varicose veins, trophic disorders.
Post-traumatic or postoperative edema of soft tissues.
DOSING MODE
Intravenous adults - 5-10 mg / day, children under the age of 3 years - 100 mcg / kg / day, from 3 to 10 years - 200 mcg / kg / day.

The dose for oral administration depends on the dosage form and is determined individually.

With external application, rub gently in the affected area several times a day.

SIDE EFFECT
Allergic reactions: skin rash, hives, angioedema, anaphylactic shock, fever.

From the digestive system: dyspepsia, nausea.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Renal failure, I trimester of pregnancy, hypersensitivity to escin.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Eszin is contraindicated for use in the first trimester of pregnancy.
Possible use in the III trimester of pregnancy, especially with the appearance of swelling of the lower extremities and the absence of nephropathy.
It is not recommended to use during lactation (breastfeeding).

APPLICATION FOR FUNCTIONS OF THE LIVER

With simultaneous use with escin, it is possible to increase the activity of anticoagulants and other drugs with antithrombotic effect.

With simultaneous use, cephalosporins displace escin from bonds with plasma proteins.
