PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT
Means with bronchodilator and anti-inflammatory action. Reduces manifestations of bronchospasm and inflammation in the airways. The mechanism of action is associated with antagonistic activity against histamine H 1 -receptors and with myotropic spasmolytic activity. Reduces the production of a number of biologically active substances involved in the development of inflammation and contribute to an increase in the tone of the bronchi (including cytokines, TNFО±, arachidonic acid derivatives, free radicals).
PHARMACOKINETICS
It is well absorbed from the digestive tract. C max is achieved after 6 hours after administration and after 12 hours decreases by 3 times. It is excreted mainly by the kidneys (90%), through the intestines - 10%. T 1/2 - 12 hours.
INDICATIONS
Rhinopharyngitis, laryngitis, otitis, sinusitis, rhinotraheobronchitis, bronchitis, maintenance therapy for isolated and complicated bronchial asthma, respiratory symptoms in measles, pertussis, influenza.
DOSING MODE
Is ingested before meals. Adults - 80 mg 2-3 times / day; children over 2 years of age (in the appropriate dosage form) - 4 mg / kg / day.
SIDE EFFECT
Possible: moderately expressed dyspeptic phenomena, nausea, epigastric pain, drowsiness.
Rarely: moderate tachycardia.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to fenspiridu, pregnancy, lactation, children under 18 years (for tablets), children under 2 years (for syrup).
PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Fenspiride is contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation (breast-feeding).
APPLICATION FOR CHILDREN
Contraindicated in children under 14 years (for tablets).
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Treatment with fenspiride does not replace antibacterial therapy and can not serve as a reason for postponing the proper use of antibacterial drugs.
