This information is a reference and it is not enough that the drug has been prescribed by a doctor ..

PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT
Means for correction of metabolic processes.
It has anabolic, antihypoxic and antithyroid effect, activates fat metabolism, stimulates regeneration, increases appetite.
Carnitine is a natural substance related to vitamins of group B. It is a cofactor of metabolic processes that support the activity of coenzyme A. It reduces the basic metabolism, slows down the breakdown of protein and carbohydrate molecules.
Promotes penetration through the membranes of mitochondria and the cleavage of long chain fatty acids with the formation of acetyl-CoA (necessary to ensure the activity of pyruvate carboxylase in the process of gluconeogenesis, the formation of ketone bodies, the synthesis of choline and its esters, oxidative phosphorylation and the formation of ATP).
Mobilizes fat (the presence of 3 labile methyl groups) from fat stores.
Competitively superseding glucose, includes a fatty acid metabolic shunt whose activity is not limited by oxygen (in contrast to aerobic glycolysis), in connection with which the drug is effective in conditions of acute hypoxia (including the brain) and other critical conditions.
It has neurotrophic action, inhibits apoptosis, limits the affected area and restores the structure of the nervous tissue.
Normalizes protein and fat metabolism, increased basal metabolism in thyrotoxicosis (being a partial antagonist of thyroxin). Restores the alkaline reserve of blood.
Reduces the formation of keto acids, increases the resistance of tissues to the effect of toxic decomposition products, activates anaerobic glycolysis, stimulates and accelerates reparative processes.

Increases the threshold of resistance to physical exertion, reduces the degree of lactic acidosis and restores working capacity after prolonged physical exertion.
At the same time, it contributes to the economical consumption of glycogen and the increase in its reserves in the liver and muscles.
Does not affect the blood coagulation system.

PHARMACOKINETICS
After iv introduction at 3 h is almost completely removed from the blood.
Easily penetrates into the liver and myocardium, more slowly - into the muscles. It is excreted by the kidneys mainly in the form of acyl esters.
INDICATIONS
As part of complex therapy: ischemic stroke (in acute, recovery periods), transient cerebral circulation, discirculatory encephalopathy, traumatic and toxic brain damage.

Primary and secondary deficiency of carnitine.

As a cardioprotector in the treatment of cytostatics, especially anthracycline.

DOSING MODE
Enter in / in, drip, slowly.
The daily dose is 0.5-1 g. The duration of treatment is determined individually, depending on the indications.
SIDE EFFECT
Possible: allergic reactions, muscle weakness in patients with uremia.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to carnitine.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Special studies on safety during pregnancy and lactation were not carried out.
If appropriate, in this category of patients, the expected benefit of therapy for the mother and the potential risk to the fetus or infant should be compared.
APPLICATION FOR CHILDREN
Possible application for growth retardation in children.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Possible use in anorexia, hypotrophy, growth retardation in children.

DRUG INTERACTION
GKS contribute to the accumulation of carnitine in tissues (except for the liver).

Other anabolics increase the effect of carnitine.
