PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT

Immunostimulating drug.
Echinacea purpurea (Echinacea purpurea (L.) Moench) contains active substances that enhance nonspecific immunity. Increasing the number of leukocytes (granulocytes) and activating phagocytosis, the drug suppresses the growth and reproduction of microorganisms. In addition, the antiviral effect of Echinacea purpurea grass against influenza and herpes viruses has been established.
PHARMACOKINETICS

Data on the pharmacokinetics of the Immunal ® preparation are not available.

INDICATIONS

- to strengthen immunity in uncomplicated acute infectious diseases and with a predisposition to frequent catarrhal diseases;

- prevention of colds and flu;

- as an auxiliary with prolonged antibiotic therapy of chronic infectious diseases, accompanied by a decrease in immunity.

DOSING MODE

The drug in the form of a solution for ingestion is prescribed for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age to 2.5 ml 3 times / day;
children aged 6 to 12 years - 1.5 ml 3 times / day; children aged 1 year to 6 years - 1 ml 3 times / day.
The drug in the form of tablets is prescribed for adults and adolescents over 12 years old for 1 tab.
3-4 times / day; children aged 6 to 12 years - 1 tab. 1-3 times / day; children aged 4 to 6 years - 1 tab. 1-2 times / day.
To achieve a clinical effect, Immunal ® should be taken for at least 1 week.

The duration of continuous reception is no more than 8 weeks.

Tablets should be washed down with water.
For small children, it is recommended to crush the tablet and mix with a little water, tea or juice.
To facilitate the correct dosing of the solution for oral administration, a graduated metering pipette is enclosed in each package.
Before taking the required amount of drops should be diluted in a small volume of water.
SIDE EFFECT

In some cases , the development of reactions of hypersensitivity: skin rash, itching, dizziness, bronchospasm, angioedema, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, anaphylactic shock, decreased blood pressure, shortness of breath.

Other: leukopenia (with continuous use for more than 8 weeks).

CONTRAINDICATIONS

- progressive systemic and autoimmune diseases (tuberculosis, leukemia, collagenoses, multiple sclerosis, HIV infection, AIDS);

- Children under 1 year of age (for oral solution);

- Children's age up to 4 years (for tablets);

- Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug and plants of the family Compositae.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION

There are no data on the negative impact of the Immunal.

Before using the drug during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding), you should consult a doctor.

APPLICATION FOR CHILDREN

Contraindicated in children under 1 year (for oral solution);
in children under 4 years (for tablets).
The drug in the form of a solution for oral administration is prescribed for children aged 6 to 12 years - 1.5 ml 3 times / day;
children aged 1 year to 6 years - 1 ml 3 times / day.
The drug in the form of tablets is prescribed for children aged 6 to 12 years - 1 tab.
1-3 times / day; children aged 4 to 6 years - 1 tab. 1-2 times / day.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Before applying Immunal ® in children under 12 years old and patients with allergic diseases and bronchial asthma in an anamnesis, consult a doctor.

If side effects occur, stop taking Immunal ® and consult a doctor.

If symptoms persist for more than 10 days, consult your doctor.

Immunal ® oral solution contains 20% ethanol (ie the alcohol content in the maximum single dose is equivalent to 1 teaspoon of dry wine).

When stored, the precipitation of a flocculent sediment consisting of active polysaccharides is acceptable.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use.
Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and manage mechanisms

No special precautions are required.

OVERDOSE

Symptoms of intoxication due to drug overdose are not noted.

DRUG INTERACTION

The solution for ingestion contains ethanol, in connection with which the drug can enhance or alter the effect of other medications.

Clinically significant drug interaction was observed with the use of antibiotics of the cephalosporin group (cefamandol, cefotetan, cefmenoxime, cefoperazone, moxalactam) and simultaneous intake of ethanol (even in small amounts).
The reaction of the patient was characterized by reddening of the face, nausea, increased sweating, headache, palpitations. In this regard, Immunal ® in the form of a solution for oral administration should not be used simultaneously with the above antibiotics. Admission Immunal is possible only 3 days after the end of the course of treatment of these cephalosporins.
With simultaneous use with immunosuppressants, there is a mutual weakening of the effect.

There are no reports of any interaction with other drugs.

The drug is approved for use as a means of OTC.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF STORAGE

The drug should be stored out of reach of children at a temperature of no higher than 25 ° C.
Shelf life of the solution for oral administration - 2 years, tablets - 3 years.
