PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT
The combined multivitamin preparation with micro and macro elements contains a complex of 11 vitamins and 8 minerals, which are important factors in metabolic processes.
One red and one blue pellet contains vitamins and minerals in quantities that satisfy the daily needs of the body. For better assimilation of the vitamin-mineral complex and preservation of the activity of the main components, vitamins and minerals are separated in pills of different colors. Vitamins are contained in a dragee of red color, minerals - in a dragee of blue color.
Retinol (vitamin A) is involved in the synthesis of various substances (proteins, lipids, mucopolysaccharides) and provides a normal function of the skin, mucous membranes, as well as the organ of vision.
Kolekaltsiferol (vitamin D 3 ) plays an important role in maintaining the balance of calcium and phosphorus in the body. With its lack of bone tissue, the calcium content (osteoporosis) decreases.
Thiamine (vitamin B 1 ) normalizes the activity of the heart and promotes the normal functioning of the nervous system.
Riboflavin (vitamin B 2 ) promotes the processes of tissue regeneration, incl. skin cells.
Pyridoxine (vitamin B 6 ) helps maintain the structure and function of bones, teeth, gums; affects the erythropoiesis, promotes the normal functioning of the nervous system.
Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B 12 ) is involved in erythropoiesis, contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system.
B vitamins participate in the formation of various enzymes that regulate different types of metabolism in the body.
Folic acid (vitamin B c ) stimulates erythropoiesis.
Tocopherol (vitamin E) is a natural antioxidant. Prevents increased blood coagulability and favorably affects peripheral circulation. Participates in the synthesis of proteins and hemoglobin, in the process of cell growth, the functions of skeletal muscles, heart and blood vessels, the sex glands.
Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is involved in the oxidation of a number of biologically active substances, regulation of metabolism in connective tissue, carbohydrate metabolism, blood clotting and tissue regeneration, stimulates the formation of steroid hormones, normalizes the permeability of capillaries. PHARMACOKINETICS
The action of Duovit В® is the cumulative effect of its components, therefore it is not possible to carry out kinetic observations. All together, the components can not be traced using markers or bio-studies.
INDICATIONS
As a preventive agent for conditions accompanied by increased demand for vitamins and minerals:
- increased physical activity (including during active sports activities);
- Pregnancy;
- lactation period;
- with irregular, malnutrition or a monotonous diet.
DOSING MODE
The drug should be taken orally after eating in the morning. Dragee swallowed whole, squeezed a little water.
Adults and children over 10 years of age are prescribed 2 tablets / day (1 dragee of red color and 1 dragee of blue color).
The course of taking the drug is 20 days. The course can be repeated after a break (1-3 months) or on the recommendation of a doctor.
SIDE EFFECT
Allergic reactions are possible, including hypersensitivity reactions with an asthmatic component.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
- Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
During pregnancy and lactation, the drug can be used as directed by a doctor.
APPLICATION FOR CHILDREN
The drug is prescribed for children older than 10 years.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Possible coloration of urine in yellow is harmless and is due to the presence of riboflavin in the preparation.
Patients with diabetes should take into account that 1 dragee contains 800 mg of sugar, and the daily dose of the drug contains 1.6 g of sugar.
Red and blue pills contain 331 mg of lactose, 1083 mg of sucrose, 270 mg of glucose, 237 mg of sorbitol, so the drug is not recommended for patients with congenital intolerance to glucose and fructose, glucose malabsorption / galactose syndrome and iso-malase deficiency.
Azo dyes E124 and E110 can cause hypersensitivity reactions with the asthmatic component.
Hypersensitivity reactions are also possible in patients with hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid.
Red beans contain polyol (mannitol), which in large doses can cause diarrhea.
Do not exceed the daily dose. If the drug is taken in a high dose, the patient should immediately consult a doctor.
It is not recommended to take Duovit В® together with other products containing vitamins and minerals.
OVERDOSE
Cases of overdose when taking the drug in recommended doses are not noted.
If there is a significant excess of recommended doses, cases of hypervitaminosis A and D are possible. The preparation contains glycerol, therefore, in case of an overdose, headache and gastrointestinal disorders (including diarrhea, vomiting) are possible.
DRUG INTERACTION
The drug contains iron and calcium and therefore slows the absorption in the intestine of antibiotics from the group of tetracyclines, as well as derivatives of fluoroquinolones.
Vitamin C increases the effect and side effects of sulfonamides (including the appearance of crystals in the urine).
Antacid preparations containing aluminum, magnesium, calcium, as well as colestyramine reduce iron absorption. Therefore, if you need the simultaneous use of Duovit and antacid preparations, you should observe the interval between meals for at least 3 hours.
With the simultaneous use of diuretics from the group of thiazides, the likelihood of hypercalcemia increases.
TERMS OF RELEASE FROM PHARMACY
The drug is approved for use as a means of OTC.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF STORAGE
The drug should be stored out of the reach of children, protected from light, dry place at a temperature of no higher than 25 В° C. Shelf life - 3 years.
