PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT

Combination drug with anti-inflammatory properties for external use.

The properties of the drug are due to the effects of its components.
Zinc oxide, cod liver oil in combination with the vaseline-lanolin base of the ointment create a physical barrier, forming a protective coating on the skin or mucous membranes, reducing the effect of irritants on the affected area and preventing the appearance of a rash. Desitin gives a noticeable effect in diaper rash within 24 hours after the beginning of application.
Desitin provides a lasting protective effect from moisture, especially at night, when the baby can be in wet diapers.

It also has a weak astringent effect, therefore it is used as an anti-inflammatory and protective agent with small burns, cuts, scratches, and also with eczema and skin lesions of mild degree.
