PHARMACHOLOGIC EFFECT
The active substance of the preparation - cetirizine, belongs to the group of competitive histamine antagonists, blocks H 1 - histamine receptors. Cetirizine influences the histamine-dependent stage of allergic reactions, and also reduces the migration of eosinophils, restricts the release of inflammatory mediators at the cellular stage of an allergic reaction. Prevents development and facilitates the course of allergic reactions, has an antiexudative, antipruritic effect, has almost no anticholinergic and antiserotonin effect. In therapeutic doses, it practically does not have a sedative effect.
PHARMACOKINETICS
Quickly absorbed when taken orally. C max in the serum is achieved 1 hour after oral administration. In small amounts, it is metabolized in the liver. T 1/2 is in adults 7-10 hours, in children 6-12 years - 6 hours.
INDICATIONS
- seasonal and year-round allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis;
- Pollinosis (hay fever);
- idiopathic urticaria and other allergic dermatoses, accompanied by itching and rashes.
DOSING MODE
Inside adults and children over 12 years old -1 tab. (10 mg) 1 time / day.
Children from 6-12 years - 1 tab. (10 mg) - 1 time / day or 1/2 tab. (5 mg) 2 times / day.
Patients with moderate-grade renal insufficiency (CK 11-13 ml / min), patients on hemodialysis (CC less than 7 ml / min) and patients with impaired hepatic function should be prescribed 1/2 tablets / day.
If you miss the time of taking the drug accidentally, the next dose should be taken as soon as possible. In the event that the time of the next administration of the drug is approaching, the next dose should be taken on schedule, without increasing the total dose.
The drug Alers can be taken regardless of the meal.
Tablets should be swallowed, not liquid, squeezed with a small amount of water.
SIDE EFFECT
In some cases , headache, drowsiness, dizziness, agitation, dry mouth, gastrointestinal disorders in the form of dyspepsia, abdominal pain, flatulence are possible.

OVERDOSE

DRUG INTERACTION

When concomitantly taken with bronchodilators, containing theophylline as an active substance, an increase in the frequency of side effects of cetirizine is possible.
Data on the interaction of cetirizine with alcohol have not been received to date, despite this, the use of alcoholic beverages in the treatment of cetirizine is not recommended.
